TEXAS HILL COUNTRY REGIONAL LIGHTING TRAIL

In an effort to keep the season special, we don't start Christmas activities until after we wake up from our post-Thanksgiving dinner nap. After which time we're allowed to watch Elf again, put up the Christmas tree, and begin plotting our holiday lights excursions. The Texas Hill Country Regional Lighting Trail provides a great guide for planning trips to local town displays, many of which begin lighting up the night on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. Last year, we visited the colorful and creative Emily Ann Theater's Trail of Lights in Wimberley and the holiday lights wonderland in Johnson City that must be seen to be believed.

This year, we have more on our list to visit, but for those looking for friend and family activities this weekend after the last slice of pumpkin pie has disappeared, these links should help you get out of the house and get started on some holiday fun:
