DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD (AND BEYOND)
On Thursday (August 4) at 7pm - 8pm, the Hays County Sheriff’s Department hosts a meeting at the
Dripping Springs Community Library (501 Sportsplex Dr, Dripping Springs) for those in the Dripping Springs, Driftwood, or Henly area interested in learning about starting a Neighborhood Crime Watch Program.
The “Back to College Garage Sale” returns on Saturday, August 6, at Church of the Springs (230 Sports Park Drive) from 8am – 3pm. All new and returning college students are invited to participate in the garage sale and all proceeds go directly to you. A great opportunity to clean out your closet and earn some cash for college. Also a keen time for parents, grandparents, or friends of participating students to clean out their garages, storage rooms, closets, and attics and let the kids make some cash. Westcave Cellars celebrates the 2011 grape harvest with a Grape Stomp on Saturday, August 6. Become a member of the Purple Feet Club by jumping into a picking bin to crush the grapes to make wine. The fun starts at 2pm. The music begins at 5pm. Bring a picnic or enjoy a plate of barbeque and sides for a small donation. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs, sodas, and water. Also on Saturday, August 6, it's the Bull Bash at Harrison Ranch Park. The event, sponsored by City of Dripping Springs and DS Firefighters Association, is at 7pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids and available for purchase at DS City Hall, Signature Convenience Store and North Hays County Fire/EMS Dept. on Sportsplex Drive.
The Burke Rally is coming up the weekend of August 12-14 at Camp Ben McColloch. The family oriented bike and car rally raises funds for the Burke Center in Driftwood. The boy's home helps 11-17 year old boys, who have been sexually or physically abused, get back on their feet. Burke Rally events included live music all weekend, 100 mile "fun run" for bikes and cars, silent auction, bike and car show, washer tournament, food, arts, and crafts vendors, kids games and activities, overnight primitive camping, and BBQ cook-off.
