AN OPEN LETTER TO DON
Dear Don:
We’ve heard you might be headed this direction later this week. Please consider this an open invitation to visit Dripping Springs to relax and release a bountiful rain. To encourage your trip here, you should know that as the “Gateway to the Hill Country,” Dripping Springs is perfectly situated in one of the nation’s most popular destination spots. While conveniently located just minutes from Austin, Dripping Springs is a world away from the city grind and just a stone’s skip from award-winning wineries, microbreweries, outdoor adventures, and more.
After an exhausting churn through the Gulf of Mexico, you may be in the mood for a cocktail or relaxing glass of wine. If so, you've come to the right place as we are home to award-winning Dripping Springs Vodka, as well as a growing roster of impressive wineries including Bell Springs Winery, Solaro Estate Winery, Driftwood Estate Winery, Duchman Family Winery, and more. Two heralded new breweries, Jester King and Thirsty Planet, are located near Dripping Springs and, the granddaddy of them all, Real Ale, is just a short, scenic drive away. Dripping Springs now also has our very own brewpub, The Barber Shop — if you come for a visit we promise to explain the name!
If a robust outdoor adventure is more your windspeed, Dripping Springs is nestled next to one of our state’s most visited parks, Pedernales Falls State Park, which holds a dramatic waterfall as its centerpiece. Hamilton Pool Nature Preserve, also nearby, likewise boasts a breathtaking 50 foot rock overhang and waterfall. Our famous, scenic Dripping Springs country roads play host each year to cyclists from around the country and beyond for the Livestrong Challenge. If you’re a cycling enthusiast, you can ride the route of a Tour de France champion!
In short, Don, you couldn’t ask for a more enjoyable and beautiful place to unleash a drought-ending deluge of rain. But, if all of the above is not enticement enough, we’re just, like, 5 minutes from the Salt Lick.
Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Dripping Springs Babble
P.S. The Dripping Springs Farmers Market on Saturday morning is rain or shine! No problem!
