DRIPPING WEEKEND
Grace Pantry will hold their final Coat Give-away for Kids on Saturday from 10am to 4pm at the red warehouse located behind A Line Auto Parts at 709 290 West in Dripping Springs. Children need to be present to try on the coats. In conjunction with the give-away, pantry volunteers will clean out the warehouse section of the building. Volunteers are welcomed to join. Activities will include packing boxes, loading trailers, cleaning, throwing out trash and sweeping. Weather will not be a factor since most work will be conducted indoors. JD's Wood Fired Pizza will be at The Barber Shop brewpub this weekend. Jason should be set up by 11am on Saturday. We first became JD's fans when we had the made-to-order pizza at the Dripping Springs Farmers Market. Beer and pizza in downtown Dripping.
On Saturday at 6:30pm, nine performing arts groups will combine their talents on the Dripping Springs High School Auditorium stage for "A Grand Evening on Broadway" a benefit concert to raise money for grand piano. The evening will include performances by student groups from DSISD representing the band, choir, theatre and dance programs. It will also feature The Starlight Symphony Orchestra and The Hill Country Community Band. Selections will include music from Broadway shows Chicago, Wicked, West Side Story, Footloose, The Lion King, The Sound of Music, and more. The concert will be followed by a reception and silent auction of unique works donated by DSHS art alumni. Tickets are on sale now for $25 and may be purchased online at ds88keys.org . Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the main offices of the Dripping Springs High School or Middle School, as well as at the DSISD Administration Building. Tickets will be $30 at the door on the night of the event.
