DSHS STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR ALL-STATE BAND AND CHOIR
Four Dripping Springs High School students have achieved the highest honor available for Texas high school musicians – qualifying for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Band and All-State Choir.
Juniors Amanda Oliphant (Alto 2) and Will Pinteric (Bass 2) earned their spots in the All-State Choir through a series of auditions that culminated with the Area auditions held at Reagan High School in San Antonio. Junior Sarah Crowell (Clarinet) and sophomore Annabelle McIntire-Gavlick (Bass Clarinet) advanced to the All-State 4A Symphonic Band after Area auditions at the University of Texas at Austin.
All-State musical groups will perform for music educators, family members, and the public at the 2011 TMEA Convention, held in San Antonio’s Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on February 12.
