FEES RISING IN FEBRUARY AT HAYS COUNTY RECYCLING AND SOLID WASTE FACILITIES
If a new year resolution is to to toss out the old, you might want to do it before the end of January.
While costs have escalated, fees at Hays County Recycling and Solids Waste facilities have not increased since the 1970s. So, beginning February 1, fees will increase for some items dropped off at the two facilities, Carney Lane (end of CR 278) in Wimberley and 20290 FM 150 West at CR 162 (Darden Hill Road) in Driftwood. General household trash disposal at the Hays County facilities will increase from $5 to $8 per cubic yard with a $4 minimum. Construction materials will rise from $15 to $20 per cubic yard, with a $10 minimum. Large appliance disposal will rise from $7 to $10 per appliance.
Both facilities are open 8am to 4pm daily except Wednesdays, Sundays and official County holidays.
For information about items accepted by Hays County, a complete list of new fees and information about hazardous material disposal, visit the Hays County Recycling and Solid Waste Department website.
