THESE ARE A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS: THE BABBLE'S 10 FAVORITE THINGS IN DRIPPING SPRINGS IN 2010
As we reflect on last year, we present our 10 Favorite Things in Dripping Springs in 2010. We are counting down from 10 because that's more fun, but they all rank equally in our heart.

#2 The Promise of a Revitalized Downtown Dripping Springs
We love Dripping Springs, but have often glanced sideways with envy toward Wimberley and Fredericksburg and their more strollable and robust downtowns. Last summer, when lifelong Dripping Springs resident Charles Haydon and his wife Sherry opened his family's historic home on Mercer as the Homestead at the Dripping Springs, a bed and breakfast inn, we felt our first spark of revitalized downtown Dripping hope. Word of the Barber Shop's new life as community-friendly brewpub began to bubble last year (and looks like doors will open later this month), and while we can't eat or shop at Gracy Title, the exterior sprucing up and large floral vases added a new shine to the historic street. The Pure Water Stop moved from Oak Hill bringing their unique retail to Dripping, and when Goodnight Diner opened in December delicious evening dining came to Mercer. And many cheers to those active businesses who have held fort before these new arrivals. We wish much success to all.

A getting busier intersection in downtown Dripping Springs.
