As we reflect on last year, we present our 10 Favorite Things in Dripping Springs in 2010. We are counting down from 10 because that's more fun, but they all rank equally in our heart.

#1 Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic
While we've said the 10 in our countdown all ranked equally in our heart, we may have fibbed when it comes to our final entry because it is closest to our heart. Probably too loudly and too often, we tell Dr. Casey Pitmon and Dr. Glen Portie at Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic thank you for saving our dog's life. As we drove to meet Dr. Portie at the clinic last Easter morning in a frantic emergency, our best friend for the past 11 years clinging to life on our lap, we never would have believed it would be 2011 and he would still be here (and furiously barking at a deer as we type this). Dr. Portie was the vet on call on Easter and we can never thank him enough for his kindness and plan of action that morning. And we can never thank our regular vet Dr. Pitmon enough for her continued thoughtful treatment and unending patience with our many phone calls (thank you, too, to the staff!). We don't just have our dog, we have our dog with amazing quality of life, and while we know we'll have to say good-bye someday we have appreciated every "bonus" day we've had with him. Thank you (again) Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic, you are our #1 favorite thing in Dripping Springs in 2010.
