#8 El Rey's Fish Tacos
Since Gigi's Java closed a couple of years ago, the space has been inhabited by several Tex-Mex restaurants, but we hope El Rey, the latest incarnation, is here to stay. We're fans of the queso and the chicken soup, but it's the fish tacos that keep us coming back. Grilled or fried fish (we do grilled) is wrapped in a tortilla (flour or corn) with avocado, cabbage slaw, and pico de gallo, and then drizzled with a chipotle cream sauce. We're hooked.
El Rey is located at 2400-B W. Highway 290 and open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Phone: (512) 858-5459.
