DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD

The Springs Family YMCA hosts its 3rd Annual Holiday Cookie Festival on Thursday from 9:30AM-12:30PM. Grab a box and fill it for one price – all money goes to the Partner of Youth campaign. Want to donate treats? Bring by at least SIX dozen of your favorites on Wednesday, December 1.

After you've partied down with a box of cookies, walk them off in the Fit for Change 1k/5k Run & Walk is Saturday at 8:00AM. Start and finish lines are near the YMCA with the race also benefiting the YMCA's Partner of Youth program. For registration and complete details, see the information PDF here .

For the third year, First Baptist Church Dripping Springs will stage a live nativity. This year, the Christmas tradition begins on Friday and again also at 6:30PM and 7:30PM on December 4, 10, and 11. Refreshments will be served in the foyer of the new sanctuary.

Wesley Gallery's Annual Christmas Art Show is Saturday from 10:00AM-5:00PM.  DSHS Arts Honor Society students donate the proceeds of sales from their annual charity show and sale to the Leukemia Society. A jam packed Saturday continues with the Sixth Annual Christmas On Mercer in downtown Dripping Springs. Hosted by the City of Dripping Springs and Dripping Springs Lions Club, the downtown Dripping Springs event will feature an old-fashioned holiday celebration including free music and live performances, arts and crafts booths, a trackless train and pony rides for kids, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, food and drinks. Santa and his Clydesdale-drawn carriage also promise to make a grand appearance. Admission is free. For more details, click here .

On Sunday, from 1:00PM - 5:00PM, tour five premier, Western and English barns in the Dripping Springs area, all decorated for the Christmas season, for the Texas H2Oasis Mustang Mare-y Christmas Barn Tour. Sample appetizers, tapas, and hors d'oeuvres from Koi Lantern, Nutty Brown Café, and Flores Mexican Restaurant. Enjoy live music by Jim Halfpenny, Jill Jones, Phil Lancaster, and Alison Moore, as well as training, dressage, and jumping demos. Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 at the door, $10 for kids 12 and under.
