NEW DETAILS FOR CHRISTMAS ON MERCER

The 6th Annual Christmas on Mercer happens on Saturday, December 4. Hosted by the City of Dripping Springs and the Dripping Springs Lions Club, the hometown holiday event will kick off at 10:00AM in historic downtown Dripping Springs with food, free music and live performances, arts and crafts booths, and children's activities. Admission is free to the public.

Mercer Street will be closed off and live holiday entertainment has been planned for the entire day including the Kyle Sisters, Jim Halfpenny Band, Rogers School Orchestra, Dragonfly School Bluegrass Band, and Elementary Fiddle and Guitar Orchestra. Other area choral groups are expected to make an appearance as well.

Activities for kids include a trackless train ride, Santa sleigh rides, pony rides, and an appearance by Santa Claus in his Clydesdale-drawn carriage. There will also be an opportunity to purchase a photo with Santa from 10:00AM until 2:00PM.

The Heritage Circle of Dripping Springs will host an Old-Fashioned Christmas Ornament-Making Party in the city's old Masonic Lodge, from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. Holiday cookies and hot chocolate will be served.

The annual Lighting of the Tree will be held at the Triangle at 6:15PM. Christmas carolers representing local churches and schools will serenade with traditional Christmas Carols at the tree lighting ceremony.
