Non-scary Halloween carnival for young children up to age 10 at the Texas Hearing and Service Dogs training campus in Dripping Springs. Help Scooby and the Gang search the Haunted Maze for the Mummy, play games to win treats, decorate your own treat bag, try the Mystery Cake Walk. Costume contest for Most Original, Scariest and People's Choice. $5 per person (adults and children). All games included. The last Dinner By the Bite was a doggone success and a howling good time with cooking demonstrations, fabulous food, libations and more! Hosted by Wilson Appliance in Dripping Springs, Dinner By the Bite features the fine food of local chefs who demonstrate how they make their signature dishes and then you eat the tasty results. Black Box Studio Theatre, Fine Arts Building, Room F206 at Dripping Springs High School
The Dripping Springs High School Theatre Department brings Brooklyn to the Hill Country with its production of Brighton Beach Memoirs, Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical play. This will be the inaugural production in the Black Box Studio Theatre at the new high school campus, and a little different for Dripping Springs audiences who have not had a small theatre venue in town. This play is intended for teen and adult audiences. There is discussion of sexuality and mild language in this performance. Due to the limited audience seating in the Studio Theatre, patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at the DSHS Main Office (920 Hwy 290 W). Ticket are for sale now, $10 for adults and $5 for students in advance. At the door ALL tickets are $10.

This 13th annual event sponsored by Dripping Springs Helping Hands benefits the Helping Hands Food Pantry, which twice each week serves over 300 households who simply do no have enough to eat. For just a $20 donation at the door, patrons select an original keepsake bowl from a choice of 1,000 to enjoy a choice of delicious gourmet soups and breads provided at no cost by restaurateurs in Dripping Springs and Austin. The Rotary Club of Dripping Springs hold its Annual Veteran’s Day Tribute with entertainment provided by Hill Country Community Band, DSHS Jazz Cats, Head to Toe Dance, and the DS Elementary Guitar & Fiddle Group. The Rotary will have food and refreshments available including hot dogs and hamburgers with the works. The Rotary invites you to this special tribute to veterans to help thank those men and women who have sacrificed so that we all may enjoy the American way of life. Local author Wendy Parnell will share her new children's book, Musta Notta Gotta Lotta Sleep Last Night, with children of all ages and accompanying adults. Copies of the book, inspired by the music of Joe Ely, will be available for purchase and signing by the author after story time with book sales benefiting the Friends of the Dripping Springs Community Library. Hosted by the City of Dripping Springs and Dripping Springs Lions Club, the downtown Dripping Springs event will feature an old-fashioned holiday celebration including free music and live performances, arts and crafts booths, a trackless train and pony rides for kids, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, food and drinks. Tour five premier, Western and English barns in the Dripping Springs area, all decorated for the Christmas season. Sample appetizers, tapas, and hors d'oeuvres from Koi Lantern, Nutty Brown Café, and Flores Mexican Restaurant. Enjoy live music by Jim Halfpenny, Jill Jones, Phil Lancaster, and Alison Moore, as well as training, dressage, and jumping demos. The Friends of the Dripping Springs Community Library’s annual holiday tour will include 4 homes, 2 B&Bs, the Dr. Pound Pioneer Homestead and the Dripping Springs Community Library. Homes are conveniently closely grouped together this year, leaving plenty of time to stop by the library to enjoy the bake sale, have some refreshments, see the children’s Book Tree and purchase raffle tickets. Each home’s decorations reflect the owner’s interests and style. Among the decorating themes this year are Americana and the Wild West, Family Traditions and Serenity. Tickets are $15 or $12 if ordered by mail by November 26. Mail check to: Friends of the Library, 501 Sportsplex, Dripping Springs, TX 78620. Tickets will be mailed to you on December 1.
