DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD
A Town Hall Meeting is set for Thursday at 6:00PM at City Hall. Interested citizens will have an opportunity to voice their opinions on the City's Draft Comprehensive Plan before it is sent to the City Council for discussion or adoption. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Plan, please forward them to chris.holtkamp@lcra.org before the meeting on Thursday.

Also, a return engagement by the musical duo, Allison & Arno is anticipated . Admission is free for all ages. Donations to the Grace Food Pantry are accepted at the door. Call (512) 858-2024 if you'd like to help out with refreshments for the evening, or to learn more about “Thirsty Thursday” programs.
In celebration of Texas Native Plant Week, Hays County Commissioner Karen Ford is again hosting a Native Plant Walk and Talk at the Precinct 4 office in Dripping Springs, 195 Roger Hanks Parkway, on Friday from 8:30AM to 10:00AM. Anyone interested in learning to landscape using native plants and grasses and planting for wildlife is welcome to come by for an informal, but informative hour’s walk and talk around the office site which was landscaped using all native and drought-tolerant plants in order to demonstrate the beauty and variety of our local, indigenous plants, and to attract wildlife for our viewing pleasure. With the recent rainfall and cooler weather, the plants are reportedly flourishing and ready to show off with butterflies galore. The talk will be lead by Betty Lambright and Ray Franklin. Ms. Lambright is the Hays County Environmental Programs Manager, but also a landscape designer and certified arborist. She was responsible for final design and installation of the Pct. 4 office landscape in 2009. Mr. Franklin is a Hays County Master Naturalist and expert on native grasses, weeds and shrubs. Following the Walk & Talk around the Hays County building, there will be a list of other home and business sites in the area where interested gardeners can see additional examples of using native plants in a beautiful and creative way. These additional sites will be available for viewing and touring until 1:00PM on Friday, October 22.
