OH, CANADA! DETERMINED CANADIAN CYCLISTS RIDING FOR CHARITY TO END THEIR 4,400KM JOURNEY IN DRIPPING SPRINGS

On October 11, 35 cyclists began a ride from Vancouver, British Columbia that will take them across the United States, and ending on Friday, October 22, in Dripping Springs, Texas at Rolling in Thyme & Dough. Each of the riders, as part of the Canada-based charity Give To Live, must raise a minimum of $5,000 to make the 4,400km (2,734 miles) trip. This year, they collectively raised more than $250,000. One of the four cancer charities Give To Live supports is the LiveStrong Foundation, so after they rest for just a moment next Friday, they'll be back in the saddle again on Sunday, October 24, to ride in the LiveStrong Challenge. According to Laura Lundquist, the group's finish line coordinator, they participate in the Challenge as a celebration of their journey and success each year. Once the group enters Dripping Springs, they will cycle to Henly Baptist Church as a thank you for the church's assistance with their group last year, and then they will loop back around and up Creek Road before arriving at Rolling In Thyme & Dough where Fabienne will keep the pastries baking and the lights on a bit later than usual so this band of determined Canadians, most from Nova Scotia, can celebrate their arrival Dripping-style. Laura is hoping to draw a crowd to cheer the cyclists on for the last bit down Creek Road (near Pioneer Bank), before they turn onto 290 and finish up at Thyme & Dough. We'll post a "cheer them on" reminder before the cyclists arrive in town. To track their route, visit givetolive.ca.
