DRIPPING FOOD: QUICK BITES
As we reported in August, buzz was Thundercloud Subs was coming to the HEB shopping center. They have now pulled their building permits with the city, so things are moving forward.
El Rey (in the former Vallarta/Guapo's location) now has its liquor permit. They started serving on Friday. We have eaten at that location since it was Vallarta, and believe El Rey is the best incarnation yet. The new young guy running the business is working hard on improving the restaurant and the menu. He listens to the customers and we are definitely big fans of the fish tacos and the chicken soup.
Railroad Bar-B-Que will be taking over the former Riley's/Main Street BBQ building. A Dripping Springs couple will own this location and word is they will be sprucing things up before opening in December.
We also have word of a diner serving dinner opening up downtown. Details to come.
