LIBRARY HOSTS FIRST MEETING OF CHARLOTTE'S BOOK CLUB ON OCTOBER 14

After UT beats OU tomorrow, we can then celebrate our also superior intelligence* by reading a classic novel in anticipation of the first meeting of the Dripping Springs Community Library's Charlotte's Book Club, which will assemble for the first time on Thursday, October 14, at 6:00PM to discuss Mark Twain's, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

The newly-formed group of adult readers takes it name and inspiration from Charlotte Walters Rhodes, a lifelong champion of the Dripping Springs Community Library. Charlotte Rhodes, an avid reader, enjoyed good books of all kinds. After her death, a special library bookcase housing titles regarded as among the best in literature was dedicated in her honor. Initially, Charlotte's Book Club will select monthly reading titles from this bookcase, the CWR collection. The group will meet for the first time on the second Thursday evening in October under the stewardship of Josie Corning.

Charlotte's Book Club is open to all adult participants looking for stimulating discussion focusing on 19th and 20th century American Literature. For more information about Charlotte's Book Club, visit the Dripping Springs Community Library at 501 Sportsplex Drive or online at dscl.org. During business hours, interested readers can telephone (512) 858-7825 for details about Charlotte's Book Club or other library events.
