DRIPPING SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET ON SATURDAY
As growers tend fall gardens, and with many vendors committed to other events in the area including Fall Fest, there will be only two vendors at the Dripping Springs Farmers Market on Saturday, but they're a heckuva two vendors. In addition to Vibrant Naturals and their handmade liquid and bar soaps, refillable containers, lotions, lip balms, and dog shampoo, Richard and Gracie of Morning Glory Farms will have a bountiful spread of fresh produce with sprouts, herbs, farm fresh eggs, mountain spinach, and hot peppers. Also basil and lemon basil (excellent in pestos or tomato sauce), shiso (for Asian cooking, as a salad sprinkle, and great in salsa), and mints. They will also have Mexican specialty herbs including papalo, oregano, and epazote for beans or chile dishes, as well as rosemary and sage. They may also have squash and last, but far from least, they will have unsprayed apples. We bought several baskets last week and they are wonderful. Don't be fooled by her easygoing cowgal appearance , Babbler's mother is a snooty, high maintenance socialite when it comes to her apples, and she loved her haul of Morning Glory Farms apples last Saturday. No funky pesticide on these sweet and golden jewels. The market is at The Triangle (RR 12 and 290) from 9:00AM - Noon.
