SUPER HARVEST MOON TONIGHT! IT'S THE HARVESTEST!

Is it a harvest moon with extra meat and cheese? No! It's a harvest (or full) moon that coincides with the beginning of autumn which starts at 10:09 tonight. There has not been a super harvest moon since 1991, and it will be 2029 when it happens again. If the clouds clear around here, we'll have a shot at seeing two sources of light mix together "to create a kind of 360-degree, summer-autumn twilight glow," says NASA Science. When farmers relied on moonlight to extend harvesting hours, they called the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox the harvest moon. If the full moon fell on the first actual day of autumn, it became "super harvest," or the "harvestest." (Via blogPOST )
