DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD
The Dripping Springs Women’s Club holds their first meeting after a summer hiatus on Wednesday from 11:30AM to 1:00PM at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit (301 Hays Country Acres Road). Dr. Mard Herrick, DSISD Superintendent, will be the featured speaker. Reservations are required and charge is $20 at the door. To see if spots are still available, call Laura Payne at (512) 894-0946 or email womenofds@yahoo.com.
Local musician and poet Anyah Dishon is a featured guest on Thursday when “Thirsty Thursday” celebrates its third year of bringing homespun poetry, music, stories and songs to the Dripping Springs Community. This month's program starts at 7:00PM at New Life Lutheran Church, 120 Frog Pond Lane off Highway 290. Admission is free, with donations sought for the Grace Food Pantry. Light refreshments are provided, and open mike opportunities follow every featured guest. For more information, call (512) 858-2024.
The Dripping Springs Farmers Market is still happening. Fall vegetables will be on their way soon, but in the meantime don't forget the market! We bought a freezer full of natural, grass-feed beef at this last Saturday's market. The market is from 9:00AM - Noon at The Triangle (RR 12 and 290). Be sure to sign up for Jo Ann Touchstone's market update here .
Have your child's safety seat checked by a certified technician at HEB on Saturday from 10:00AM - 1:00PM as part of Child Passenger Safety Week. Children need to be with the parent or adult caregiver during the inspection. For more information, contact Texans In Motion at (512) 291-8944.
We got the beat! We love drumlines so we're particularly excited about the 2nd Annual Dripping Springs Drumline Contest on Saturday starting at 11:00AM to DS Tiger Stadium (111 Tiger Lane). The contest will feature over a dozen Texas high school drumlines from the Central Texas area as well as Houston and Corpus Christi.
