PAWS DOG OF THE WEEK: ROPER PLUS EASY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

What happens when you mix a Basset Hound with a mystery pooch? You get a Roper, left. This handsome lad is just 5 years old and ready to be your best friend and conversation piece.

To learn more about Roper and the other wonderful dogs (and cats) for adoption, call PAWS Tuesday through Saturday at (512) 268-1611or visit the shelter on Tuesdays from 11:00AM - 6:00PM, Wednesday - Saturday from11:00AM- 5:00PM. The current shelter is located at 500 FM150 East in Kyle. Visit the PAWS website at pawsshelter.org

Can't adopt right now but want to help the animals? PAWS is in need of volunteers to work even just an hour at the Village Store in Wimberley. The Village Store is a non-profit thrift store that donates a portion of proceeds raised through the sale of donated merchandise to PAWS.  When volunteering at the Village Store on behalf of PAWS, your hours convert to dollars that help save animals, provide medical care and impact pet overpopulation in Central Texas. Just a few hours of your time can make a huge difference in the life of an abandoned, neglected or abused animal. The hours are flexible and the work is easy. Duties include sorting and pricing items for sale. Grab a friend and stop by to see how you can help by just giving a bit of your time! Just one hour of your time would pay for a rabies shot for a PAWS cat or dog. Two hours? Pays to have a cat spayed or neutered. Three hours? Pays to have a dog spayed or neutered. You get the picture. If you would like to have a PAWS partner meet you on your first visit, or for more information, please call Sandy Johnson at (512) 894-0219 or Melody Hilburn at (512) 470-8110.
