TOMATOPALOOZA: DRIPPING SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET ON SATURDAY
The Dripping Springs Farmers' Market is Saturday from 9:00AM - Noon at The Triangle (RR 12 and 290) and it promises to be a tomatopalooza! Word is Onion Creek Farm will have close to 200 pounds of tomatoes for sale (Roma, heirloom Cherokee purple, Golden Jubilee, Texas Porter, and Cherry). According to Onion Creek Farm owner and farmer Marianne Simmons, this week is the peak week for tomatoes. They will be at their biggest, ripest, and juiciest. As an aside, did you know Dripping's own Marianne was the produce manager for the very first Whole Foods and produce coordinator for their first 3 stores? This week's farmers' market bounties will also include grass-fed meats and local olive oil, okra, zucchini, yellow squash, sweet corn on the cob, peaches, and free-range eggs.
