SOMETHING SQUIRRELY IN DRIPPING

We saw this story last week, but watching a squirrel enjoying breakfast at the bird feeder this morning reminded us to post. KXAN has a story on the State of Texas trapping and relocating squirrels from the Capitol grounds to a private Dripping Springs ranch. According to the State Preservation Board, the overpopulation of squirrels on the Capitol grounds is causing the girdling of trees — stripping of bark off the trees around the circumference of their trunks — leading to their death. According to the article, so far, 150 squirrels have been relocated to the Dripping ranch, where a couple lets them run loose on their property. Read the full article on KXAN.com .

We don't need any more invasive species here! The squirrels will multiply rapidly and spread beyond the adoptive couple's acreage. Let's tell these folks know we don't want any more squirrel transplants!!

So far!!! Does that mean more are coming?
IMHO - 150 is a lot for 28 acres. Also, they aren't going to stay on that property. Can you spell invasive species? How about shipping them back to California?
