PIONEER FUN DAYS THIS SUMMER
For those trying to plan summer activities for the kiddoes, the Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead promises old time summer fun on Tuesday mornings in July. Children ages 5 to 12 are invited to participate in pioneer activities and games in the shade of the giant oak trees. The Tuesday morning programs will be held 9:00AM to 11:00AM rain or shine. There is a $5 charge per child, and reservations are required as class
sizes are limited. Children must be accompanied by a responsible
adult. For reservations call (512) 858-2251. The Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead is accessed through Founder’s Park,
beyond the pool, on RR 12, one third mile north of Highway 290. The July program schedule includes yarn spinning (July 6), sunflower extravaganza (July 13), jam making (July 20) and candle dipping (July 27). Kids will also learn how to play old time games such as marbles, checkers, dominoes, and sing a folk song or two. For complete program descriptions, click here (PDF).
