EARLY VOTING IN THE HAYS TRINITY ELECTION STARTS TODAY

Early voting in the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District (HTGCD) elections begins today, and goes through Tuesday, May 4. The HTGCD is a local unit of government authorized by the Texas Legislature and ratified at the local level to manage and protect groundwater. As our neck of the woods continues to grow at a rapid pace, it is important for all of us to understand the interconnectivity of groundwater, surface water, spring flow, habitat, quality of life, property values, upstream recharge, downstream uses, and more. Three Single Member District board positions are up for grabs in this election.

To determine what Single Member District you reside in, check the back of your voter registration card. Districts will be displayed as Water HT 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.  Or if you have no idea where your voter registration card is, and always rely on your driver's license to vote, then check out this map to identify your district. These elections are being held for Single Member Districts, 1, 3 and 5.

To learn more about the candidates in your district, HTCGD has all candidate bios available online. From the home page here , link to your district candidate bios (right side under May 8 Election Information).
