DRIPPING WEEKEND

Hemisphere Marketplace has live music tonight from 6:30PM - 9:30PM featuring the country/folk/jazz sounds of  the "Intrepid Duo", Lonnie Atkinson and Alex Dormont.

Dripping Springs Farmers Market is Saturday from 9:00AM to Noon at The Triangle (RR12 and 290). For all those who enjoyed the bibb lettuce handed out from the first place Rainwater Revival float at Founders Day, Bella Verdi Farms will be at the market selling it along with romaine, arugula, microgreens, and basil. Onion Creek Farm has reported they will have certified organic asparagus, spinach, lettuces, Swiss chard, shallots, lamb's quarters, garlic chives, oregano, rosemary AND one of our very favorite vegetables, French Breakfast radishes (try them thinly sliced on buttered bread and sprinkled with sea salt and see if they don't become one of your favorite vegetables, too). Plus fresh, free-range eggs.

*** UPDATE: Canceled due to rain. *** For those with an equine inclination, it's time to saddle-up for the Harrison Ranch Park Playday Buckle Series 2010, sponsored by the City of Dripping Springs and the Harrison Ranch Park Committee. The series of six playdays kicks off this Saturday morning. The events consist of competition among horse riders in poles, speed, cloverleaf barrels, flag race, and straightaway. The age groups range from Pee Wee (ages nine and under), Juniors (ages 10-14), Senior Novice Speed (ages 14 and older) and Seniors (ages 25 and older). Spectators are encouraged to come and watch.
