CENSUS FORMS AND HAYS COUNTY PO BOXES

The Hays County Commissioners Court has been advised by the U.S. Census Bureau that it will now send census questionnaires to P.O. Boxes if requested to do so by residents who call the Bureau’s toll-free number. See English, Spanish, and TDD numbers, below.

Hays County was among the jurisdictions who alerted the Bureau to the inconvenience experienced by a large number of residents in rural areas who had to either go to a Questionnaire Assistance Center to pick up a census form or wait until a census worker came to their door, simply because they do not have home delivery mail service.

The Census Bureau’s toll-free numbers can be used through April 21 to request a census questionnaire if you did not receive one or misplaced yours, whether you receive your mail at your door or at a P.O. Box. The phone numbers can also be used to ask questions you might have about the form or to fill out a census form over the phone. Information is also available at census.gov .
