DRIPPING SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET ON SATURDAY

Time flies when you're eating organic asparagus, and then slows to a cold molasses crawl when you run out. But things should crank right up again this Saturday thanks to the Dripping Springs Farmers Market. Marianne of Onion Creek Farm has confirmed she will have asparagus, and one of our absolute favorite vegetables — French Breakfast Radishes. If you've never tried a radish, particularly a French Breakfast, thinly sliced and layered on top of buttered bread and sprinkled with a little sea salt, you do not know what you're missing. The crunch of the radish is soothed by the soft bread and butter, and the salt perfectly complements the peppery bite of the radish. We can (and have) eaten them breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Thyme & Dough will be serving the radishes as an appetizer on Thursday night.

Marianne will also have certified organic spinach, lettuces, Swiss chard, shallots, lamb's quarters*, garlic chives, oregano, rosemary, as well as fresh, free-range eggs.

We hope to have more produce reports before Saturday, but consider this your first update for planning your weekend feasts. The Dripping Springs Farmers Market is Saturday from 9:00AM to Noon at The Triangle (290 and RR 12).
