OUR FAVORITE FOUNDERS DAY FESTIVAL "FIND"

Another Founders Day Festival is for the books, just memories and sore feet now, but all was worth it. As we roamed Mercer, walking off our annual fried Cajun chicken on a stick, we perused the many booths with their enticing displays, but it was one small table display of beverages, in particular, that caught our eye. Now that spring has sprung and Texas temperatures have begun inching their way skyward, there is only one beverage that can restore and revive after a day in the heat — sweet tea. And the only thing better than a quenching glass of sweet tea is one made with real cane sugar, and that we didn't have to brew up ourselves. Enter Moonshine Sweet Tea. Our favorite Founders Day Festival "find". This sweet tea concentrate, made with purified water, black tea, and real cane sugar allows you to just add water to make a sweet tea as strong or as weak as you like. Made from a family recipe passed down for 60 years, the folks behind Moonshine named it such because they started out brewing it at night, after hours, at a family member's restaurant in Austin.
