A very important election is coming up on May 8 for 3 board positions on the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District (HTGCD).  The HTGCD is a local unit of government authorized by the Texas Legislature and ratified at the local level to manage and protect groundwater. As our neck of the woods continues to grow at a rapid pace, it is important for all of us to understand the interconnectivity of groundwater, surface water, spring flow, habitat, quality of life, property values, upstream recharge, downstream uses, and more.

To help us all understand, and learn which candidates best represent the interests of Dripping Springs, Driftwood, and our surrounding areas, the Dripping Springs 912 Project is hosting the six (6) Hays Trinity GCD candidates from single-member districts 1, 3, and 5 at a forum to be held tomorrow, April 8 at 7:00PM.  The meeting will be at the Dripping Springs VFW Post 2933 which is located at 27500 RR12 at the corner of Mercer in downtown Dripping Springs. The forum is open to the public and everyone is urged to come out to hear each of these candidates speak. When you arrive you will be given cards and allowed to submit questions for the candidates in writing.  A simple drawing-from-the-hat will set the order for speaking to the group, then each candidate will have up to 5 minutes to present his or her position.  A 10-minute Question & Answer period  will follow for each, using the questions gathered earlier.
