SSG JONATHAN W. TAYLOR, COMBAT MEDIC, COMES HOME

Another Dripping Springs hero has come home. SSG Jonathan W. Taylor, Combat Medic, and son of Pam Owens of Print Plus, has returned to Dripping Springs after serving in Afghanistan (and 8 years in the Army Reserve). The photo, above, was taken on New Year's Day on an Afghanistan mountain. Jonathan took this Texas flag with him on several missions and is giving it to Governor Perry. During his time in the service, Jonathan received 2 bronze stars, one for service and one for valor. Jonathan returns to wife Gitana and children Will, 5, and Wylie, 16 months. In allowing us to post this photo, Jonathan wanted to make sure we remember all the families here who have (and have had) soldiers serve in Iraq and Afghanistan. He didn't want "it to seem like he's more special than the rest." And for those who have seen Pam lately, you have no doubt noticed the spring in her step and twinkle in her eye. There is no better nighttime sleep remedy than a soldier son safely home!

Stunning photo.... such an exquisitely beautiful/peaceful scene.....while his face reveals the somberness of imposed reality 'on the ground'....
and the TX flag front and center......quite remarkable!
Pam, I am so happy for you that your son is safely back home...
