FROZEN BIRDBATHS

We rushed about before the bitter freeze, making sure pipes were wrapped, faucets dripping, and dogs and cattle warm. So far, so good. But we forgot about one more thing we love until reminded one morning as one of us watched a Carolina Chickadee frantically pecking at the frozen water in the birdbath. Doh! All of our birdbaths are now being monitored for our beloved feathered friends. For some friendly advice on how to winterize your birdbaths, the National Wildlife Federation has an article on winterizing your birdbaths here.
