DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD
On Wednesday, the
Dripping Springs Rotary Club holds its annual Veterans Day Tribute from 6:00PM - 8:00PM and invites
the entire community to join in the celebration. The event will be held at Texas Hearing and Service Dogs facility (4925 Bell Springs
Rd) where members of the local VFW Post
will bring flags and "post colors", and local veterans will be recognized before
an evening filled with entertainment including the Hill Country Band showcasing
a repertoire of marches and historical war tunes plus much more. Also, Rotarian
"top chefs" will prepare dinner for attendees and a lively silent auction will
add to the fun. While food tips are welcome, the event and meal are free to the
public. For more information call Bonnie Rose at (512) 894-3944 or
Karen Ford at (512) 922-8234.

In conjunction with lung cancer awareness month in November, Rexanna’s Foundation hosts the 3rd Annual Lone Star Huddle Up on Satuday at 7:00PM at the Salte Lick Pavilion. The charity benefit includes Salt Lick barbecue and outstanding music by Rick Treviño, the Lake Travis Fiddlers and Michael Shane Borden. Although lung cancer kills more people than breast, prostate and colon cancers combined, lung cancer receives scant attention in no small part because most people who get lung cancer die, leaving few survivors to pursue the cause. Learn more about the event and the foundation's inspiration, Rexanna Hawkins, a a lifelong educator, coach and nonsmoker throughout her life who was diagnosed only two months before she lost her battle with lung cancer at age 49 in 2006 at rexannasfoundation.org.
