PAWS DOGS OF THE WEEK: ANNIE

Is every cattle dog naturally smart? We don't know for sure, but we can testify that the cattle dog mix we found dumped on the side of the road has turned out to be the cleverest dog we've ever had — and with virtually no training. While our little Chihuahua mixes run hither and yon never obeying a word we speak, our cattle dog seems to understand — and obey — our every word. It is remarkable, quite honestly. He probably deserves someone who is smart enough to train him properly, but he just gets lots of love and treats instead. The lovely Annie, left, is an Australian Cattle Dog Mix. Is she as smart as our cattle dog? You can find out! To learn more about Annie and the other wonderful dogs (and cats) for adoption, visit pawsshelter.org  or call PAWS Tuesday through Sunday at 512-268-1611or visit the shelter on Tuesdays from 11:00AM - 6:00PM, Wednesday -Sunday from 11:00AM-5:00PM.The current shelter is located at  500 FM150 East in Kyle.

Babble founders have a merry menagerie of rescued dogs, including a couple of darlings from PAWS Animal Shelter, a no-kill shelter. Currently located in Kyle, PAWS is building a new, larger shelter in Dripping Springs because, unfortunately, the homeless animal population continues to grow. We want to help spread the word about the special, smart, and loving dogs and cats now available for adoption.
