DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD

The Dripping Springs Toastmasters club celebrates its one-year anniversary and  achievement of receiving the top honor from Toastmasters International — the blue ribbon for being a President's Distinguished Club — in its first year. Club meetings are open to the community and promise an hour of enthusiasm, fun, and personal improvement. Members meet weekly to develop better communication skills in a safe, friendly environment.  The Club has grown to 31 community members and has room for many more. Scooby's Haunted Carnival from 1:00PM - 6:00PM on Saturday is a  fun benefit for Texas Hearing & Service Dogs (at 4925 Bell Springs Road) featuring Scooby's Haunted Maze, Mystery Cake Walk, Costume Contest with Prizes and Special Guests: Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne and the Gang! After months of planning, filming and editing, the Hays County Historical Commission has completed their new documentary, "Captain Jack" on Captain Jack C. Hays and his Texas Rangers. The 30-minute film tells the story of Hays County’s namesake from his arrival in Texas in late 1837 to his death in Oakland, California, in 1883.Check out the free public screening on Sunday at 4:00PM at Salt Lick Thurman's Mansion.
