DRIPPING MUSIC: WHIRLIGIG AND MUSIC TOGETHER
Whirligig Music (in the Head to Toe Dance Studio) will be starting the fall session of Music Together classes in early October but, in the meantime, is also offering a couple of free classes (today at 10:00AM and 2:00PM and Friday, Oct 2 at 3:00PM). Also, families with special (needs) children can join the Thursday afternoon classes at the Driftwood Fire Station. Whirligig Music is run by early childhood education specialist, music educator and Dripping Springs organic farmer Monika Kiraly. The Music Together program offered by Whirligig is an internationally recognized program that believes that all children are born musically inclined and can achieve basic music competence if introduced to music between the ages of 0-5. However, their musicality has to be fostered at this early age by the parents — regardless of the parents' own musical ability. The Music Together program supports parents in their role as musical models by offering a new song/tune/rhythm/rhyme collection every session and teaching many musical devices that will have children and parents alike wiggling, singing, making music and laughing so much that it does not even seem like learning.
