DRIPPING MONDAY (ON A TUESDAY): THE WEEK AHEAD

Mama mia, what a Monday! But we're back and here's what's on tap this week in Dripping.

On Thursday, the Dripping Springs Community Library (501 Sportsplex) presents "Texas Beneath Our Feet" with guest speaker Dan Potter of the Texas Historical Commission. Humans have traveled in the Dripping area for thousands of years, and left traces behind. All of them — native Americans, Spanish explorers, soldiers in frontier outposts and pioneers — have left clues about their lives scattered about our Texas Hill County. Join Mr. Potter at the library at 5:30PM to learn more — find out where to look, how to recognize artifacts, and what to do if you find something.

Fall Fest is on the grounds of the Dr. Pound Pioneer Farmstead on Saturday from 10:00AM - 4:00PM with pioneer games and crafts, the Pounds Grounds Café & Confectionery (serving homemade pound cake and coffee made from beans you grind in antique coffee grinders), wagon rides, live bluegrass music, and loads more. To find out how we really feel about Fall Fest, read our earlier entry here.

Melody Moon Ranch Alpacas
(350 Bears Lane, Driftwood) is celebrating all things alpaca from Noon - 5:00PM on Saturday. This is a  free opportunity for the public to meet alpacas and learn more about these inquisitive, unique animals. Live fleece processing demos, spinning, carding and felting. At 2:00PM Saturday afternoon, Jordyn's Closet (Courtyard at Super S Plaza) is holding a fashion show  featuring local models and a performance by Head To Toe Dance Studio. 10% off on all purchases from 2:00 PM until close with  portion of the proceeds from Fashion Show sales going to benefit the Life Skills Program for Handicapped and Developmentally Delayed Kids at Dripping Springs High School. Purchases between now and the show will qualify for a raffle drawing.
