DRIPPING WEEKEND
The Dripping Springs Farmers Market happens on Saturday at The Triangle (RR12 and 290) from 9:00AM - 11:00AM. Regulars including Onion Creek Farm will be there along with new vendors Vibrant Naturals (soaps, lip balms, dog shampoo),
local jewelry maker Shea Morgan (Morgan Jewelry), and Jupiter's Child
(solar dyed table linens, messenger bags and handcrafted wooden
animals). Also, market dates have now been extended through November to
include November 7 and 21 in the hope of rain and plentiful fall crops.
Note that DS United Methodist will have their annual pumpkin patch at
the Triangle October 11- 31 which means they will share space with the
Farmers Market on October 17 and which just sounds like dreamy fall
fun.
Also on Saturday starting at 11:00AM, 14 high school band drumlines will participate in the first annual Dripping Springs Drumline Contest, sponsored by the DS Drumline and the DSHS Bands. A panel of three nationally acclaimed judges, featuring Scott Johnson from the The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, will adjudicate the event. General Admission is $5.00; ages 12 and under are free. Concessions will be available at the event held at the high school stadium. For more information, dsbands.org (click on High School link).
On Sunday, the Straus Family Benefit happens at Nutty Brown Cafe from 5:00PM - 8:00PM. It is $10 at the door (kids enter free) for the charity event with all available tables first come, first served. Live music and raffle items. Donations for the Straus family are joyfully accepted at Cattleman's Bank.
