GET IN THE FLOW IN WIMBERLEY THIS WEEKEND
This weekend, September 11-13, the For Love of Water (FLOW) group will be presenting a number of events in Wimberley.
On Friday, the the Allure of Water Art Show is from 6:00-9:00PM at the Wimberley Community Center. Thirty-seven artists are putting from one to three pieces in this show. And all are inspired by water. Most of these pieces are for sale. The Quick Draw Art & Auction event will feature artists ranging in age from 6 to 82.
On Saturday, the conference from 9:00AM - 5:00PM at the Community Center, features family tracks and workshops covering emotional, intellectual and physical responses to our universal need for water. Look for Dripping locals speaking at the event.
Sunday ceremonies from 10:00AM - ? at Jacob’s Well (Camp Jacob) will include the blessing of the Jacob’s Well waters and a potluck lunch to follow.
This weekend's water event promises to "ease the fears brought on by drought, dried up rivers and springs and dusty wells. The speakers present information you need to be aware of and practical actions you can take, collectively and individually, to improve the water cycle, to catch the raindrops where they fall, to reduce waste and to collaborate with others to insure our water resource is sustainable far into the future."
The complete schedule, registration information, speaker bios and map to the events are at hmitexas.org.
