DRIP PIC OF THE WEEK

Another glorious hummingbird photo by Dripping's resident birder Howard Williams. The Ruby-throated hummer is feeding from Salvia penstemonoides. As special as hummingbirds are to Texas, S. penstemonoides is special as well. It is endemic to Texas and quite rare in the wild. Its range is very limited to parts of Central Texas. Every Texas gardener worth their salt should grow this plant. And the hummers will thank all who do!
