(STARTING TO FEEL) FALL FEST
The slightly cooler mornings give us hope that this interminable summer of heat really may end, and make the prospect of Fall Fest all the more real and enticing. The upcoming September 26 event on the grounds of the Dr. Pound Pioneer Farmstead is really getting into gear and they're looking for demonstrators of pioneer crafts and skills. Currently, they are in need of a candle maker, corn husk doll maker and a butter churner, and they are open to other relevant craft and skill demonstrations. Think you got the old-timey skillz? Call (512) 858-2030 or email poundhouse@verizon.net. They are also looking for Silent Auction contributions. Over 2,000 people regularly attend Fall Fest and donations are tax deductible. Call or email for more information. And in big Fall Fest music news, Tony Harrison and Hot Texas will be performing. If you were at the Heritage Gala in May, you know how truly hot this band is. For the past 2 years, they've played Broken Spoke every Wednesday. Tony and his 8 piece band will be in the Texas Swing of things at Fall Fest from 2:00PM - 4:00PM.
