TEMPORARY TRAFFIC LIGHT AT MIGHTY TIGER TRAIL AND 290

Dripping Springs Independent School District (DSISD) has announced that there will soon be a temporary traffic light at Mighty Tiger Trail (the street by Dripping Springs Middle School), and US Highway 290. DSISD, in cooperation with TX DOT and the City of Dripping Springs, has been working to find a solution to the traffic issues that occur at that intersection during daily pick-up and drop-off times and are hopeful that this traffic signal will alleviate much of the congestion, and improve safety for students and parents. The existing traffic signal at Sportsplex Drive and Highway 290 is an alternative to Mighty Tiger Trail for Middle School access, and DSISD always encourages parents to take advantage of the school bus transportation offered by the district (big yellow school bus was how this Babblette rolled). The new signal at Mighty Tiger Trail and Highway 290 will be a temporary signal, but will stay in place until the permanent signal at Roger Hanks Parkway becomes operational with the realignment of 0ld Highway 290 to provide school access. TX DOT has scheduled installation of the Mighty Tiger Trail light to begin as soon as the design and material acquisitions are complete.

Thank you to Sandra Steele for the heads up.
