DRIPPING FOOD AND CHARITY: MANNA MINISTRIES

We can't offer any heat relief, but for those in need of pocketbook relief, Dripping's Manna Ministries and their Manna Food Boxes are for anyone needing to stretch their food dollar. This money-saving food progam is not limited by income restrictions — if you eat, you qualify! At the beginning of each month (so, next week), folks can order food for much less from Manna Ministries — menus are available in the foyer at Dripping Springs United Methodist Church or online at dsumc.org — and then the food is available for pick-up on the last Saturday of the month (dates vary in November and December due to the holidays). In September, for example, for just $29 you can get:

4 lbs. Ground Beef (2-2 lb. pkgs.)

5 lbs. - 8 pc. Breaded Chicken ready to fry

2 lbs. Breaded Catfish Nuggets

2 lbs. BBQ Seasoned Beef Ribs
2 lbs. Chicken Drumsticks
18 oz. Oats

16 oz. Bag Salad

6 oz. Tomato Paste

16 oz. Saltine Crackers

1 oz. Meatloaf Seasoning Mix

1 lb. Pinto Beans

15 oz. Spinach

15 oz. Green Beans

6.5 oz. Corn Muffin Mix

1 head Cabbage

5 lb. Potatoes

Dozen Eggs

They will also be offering a few other "specials" for even less.

This unique food ministry was created from a desire for churches to help a community's physical needs, as well as spiritual. And for those of who are in a position to assist, Manna is always looking for individuals to sponsor a needy family (only $29), as well as volunteers for distribution day on the last Saturday of the month.
