DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD
If you missed last week's The Book Thief (by
Markus Zusak) discussion at the library, Janie Botkin will lead a second one on Tuesday at 2:00PM. Ms. Botkin, a recently retired DSISD Instructional Facilitator,
veteran English Department chair and curriculum writer, is uniquely qualified to
offer fresh insights into this beautiful novel. DSHS students, book club folks,
and teen and adult readers who want to delve deeper into this work are all
welcome. The Dripping Springs Community Library is located at 501 Sportsplex. Note: For those who have already read The Book Thief, Ms. Botkin offers this tip: "After you have read the book, re-read the first ten
pages. Now, in hindsight, it will make perfect sense."
Ahoy, mateys, and shiver me timbers, it’s “Pirates and Junk” time at the library's PJ Party this month. Especially for younger ones and their families, this library book discussion will set sail at 5:30PM on Thursday.
Rumor has it that this Thursday's Rolling in Thyme & Dough dinner menu theme will be "Julia Child". For those of us who keep a framed, autographed picture of Julia Child in our kitchen for inspiration, this may or may not be a thrilling prospect. Just saying. We'll get confirmation before Thursday and let you know.
