DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD

It's a Summer Reading Celebration the Dripping Springs Community Library on Wednesday. Expect fun, laughter, humor and certificates honoring Dripping Springs readers in the Deep in the Heart of Texas and the Have-a-Heart Programs. The literary good times start at 2:00PM at 501 Sportsplex.

At 5:30PM on Thursday, Janie Botkin will lead a discussion focused on The Book Thief by Markus Zusak at the library. Janie Botkin, a recently retired DSISD Instructional Facilitator, veteran English Department chair and curriculum writer, is uniquely qualified to offer fresh insights into this beautiful novel. DSHS students, book club folks, and teen and adult readers who want to delve deeper into this work are all welcome.

This weekend, August 14-16, it's the Burke Rally at Camp Ben McCulloch. This bike and hot rod rally benefits the Burke Center for Youth. Learn more at burkerally.com.
