DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD
On Monday, the Artists of Dripping Springs have their monthly meeting at Lonesome Sage Studio on Creek Road for a demonstration of unique copper art created by Gary Thompson. For more information on the organization and the meeting, contact Sue Foss at (512) 301-0268.
The Tuesday, July 21, Hays County Commissioners Court meeting will be held in two locations – at 9:00AM the Court will convene as usual at the County Courthouse in San Marcos to conduct the County’s general business. After that is concluded, the Court will recess and then reconvene at 6:00PM in Wimberley at City Hall, 12111 RR 12, #114, to discuss and possibly act on the proposed new development regulations. Interested residents are encouraged to attend. The proposed development regulations and related documents can be found on the Hays County Web site home page at www.co.hays.tx.us.
Kids ages 5-12 can journey back in time this summer with hands-on activities dating to 1860 at the Dr. Pound Pioneer Farmstead on Wednesday from 9:00AM - 11:00AM. Cost is just $5 per child and a responsible adult must stay. Reservations are required as class size is limited. Contact (512) 858-2251. On July 22, the activity is show and tell.
You'll be covered in bees(!) on Thursday at 5:30PM at Dripping Springs Community Library (501 Sportsplex). Program about honeybees especially for adults and young adults (ages 12 and up). The hour-long event is led by Kim Lehman, Austin’s well-known artist and beekeeper. Participants will discover the “bee facts” and bee-keeping essentials, taste various unique honeys and then create their own products using honey and beeswax. Activities include making lip balm and beeswax candles, cooking with honey, and discovering encaustic painting. Comfortable, casual “project” clothing and a desire to explore is encouraged. Del Sol Martial Arts & Fitness (11190 Circle Dr, off of Hwy 290 W and Circle Dr) will hold a free Cross Yo' Kick class on Sunday at 4:00PM. Join Del Sol for 20 minutes of CrossFit, then 20 minutes of Flow Power Yoga, and finishing up with 20 minutes of Cardio Kickboxing to complete a full hour of a fun and upbeat introduction to Del Sol's instructors and some of the classes they offer. Free organic fruit smoothies will be offered after the class. For more information, call (512) 535-4749.
