Just passed thru dripping springs, on my way to fredricksburg with my family. Saw everyone standing with flags and signs for Joshua. I googled it, and was sad to see this story. As an army wife, it hits home, and makes me sad. I'm proud of our soilders, and love that the community is honoring a true hero. RIP Joshua.

To the dear people of Dripping Springs, I offer my deepest thanks and love for the respect you showed yesterday to Spec. Joshua R. Farris and his family. I was one of the PGR riders in the procession and when we came over the hill into town, the sight of all of you completely overwhelmed me. I wept like a baby at the love of this man and the love of our country you showed! You made me proud to be a member of the PGR and you made me proud to be a Texan.
Thank you and may God bless all of you for your support!!

Upon my return from the Nam I was assigned to perform “Funeral Detail” when I was with the 82nd Airborne Division. It was the worst assignment of my 21 year Army career, I saw my fellow Combat Veterans taken away from their loved ones way too early in their lives, leaving families in tears; when I saw this, it reminded me of that detail and all the pain and anguish of losing one so young. I’m very proud of this young man and my heart and sympathy go out to his family and friends.
I too live in Drippin’, but was not aware of this event, if I had, I too would have been out there, crippled or not, to join my fellow neighbors Honoring this fine young man. May our Lord and Father grant you the peace and privilege to be with Him forever, you’ve done your time in hell.
