YO! YO! YO-YO WORLD CHAMPION AT THE LIBRARY TODAY!

At 2:00PM today, Wednesday, join Yo-Yo World Champion, and founder of the Lone Star Spinners Club, Valerie Oliver for a riveting display of the spinning art of yo-yo, spin top, and spinabolo at the Dripping Springs Community Library. Following the presentation, Ms. Oliver will teach beginning yo-yo techniques and tricks — yo-yos will be provided.

Valerie Oliver began yo-yoing at the age of 5 when she and her older brother would follow the Duncan yo-yo representative from store to store in the Minneapolis area. She continually developed her skills with the yo-yo and spinning top during those childhood years, appearing on television, competing, and winning contests. Today, although she is now a frequent competition judge, she still enjoys competing and inventing new tricks. When she and her husband moved to the Dallas area, the "Lone Star" yo-yo formation became a new favorite.

The library is located at 501 Sportsplex. For more information about this and other library programs for children and adults, call (512) 858-7825.
