DRIPPING THURSDAY
If it's Thursday evening, it must be savory fare at Thyme & Dough from 6:00PM - 9:00PM. Just when we think Fabienne can't top herself - she does (and with Roasted Garlic Gravy!). Using organic vegetables picked fresh from Onion Creek Farm and and Bella Verdi Farms in Dripping Springs, this week's menu just sounds like summer with:
Tuna Carpaccio
Herb Roasted Chicken with Roasted Garlic Gravy served with Roasted Herb Potatoes with Lavender and Squash Gratin
Vegetable Loaf with Roasted Garlic Gravy served with Roasted Herb Potatoes with Lavender and Squash Gratin Vegetable Lasagna
Variety of fresh local vegetables and greens
Quiche (choice of Vegetable or Meat) served with side salad
Tomato Mozzarella Salad with Basil in a Balsamic Vinaigrette
Green Side Salad
At 7:00PM, it's homespun poetry, music, stories and songs at Thirsty Thursday at New Life Lutheran Church (120 Frog Pond Lane). The microphone is "up for grabs" with participants mixing a bit of Texas Haiku in with poems about "Questions and Answers" (the suggested theme for this month's gathering). Admission is free, but donations to local food pantry shelves are always welcomed. This creative arts venue will be celebrating its second year in September. For more information, call (512)858-2024.
