DRIPPING CHARITY: LEAN ON ME

When Grandmother Babbler left this earth and went to claim her crown, she left behind her scepters —  a half-dozen canes, plus a walker (or two), and a wheelchair, all of which Mother Babbler donated to good causes and good people. For those with similar collections, we learned today of a charity community project called "Lean On Me". Dripping resident Maggie Douma is participating in the event sponsored by Organizers for America, created to bring healthcare reform awareness to the Austin area. Maggie will be collecting crutches, walkers, and canes in the Dripping Springs area for donation to nonprofits such as Eldercare. If you are in Dripping and interested in making a donation, call Maggie at (512) 894-0175 and she will arrange a convenient time to pick up your items. You  may also donate at the Capitol's south steps on June 27 from 4:00PM - 6:00PM.
