DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD

On Thursday, the Dripping Springs Community Library presents Wine Ed 101 with Paul Gingrich, full of basic information for the wine novice. If you have always wondered red or white? What wines and cheeses to serve together? Or what is a “cooking” wine? Bring your questions because Paul has the answers! For more information call (512) 858-7825. The Artists of Dripping Springs present their annual tour this Saturday. See where the art magic happens in the artists' own studios from 10:00AM - 5:00PM. Maps (and more) available at

Saturday rocks on with Maverick Music Mayhem from Noon - 10:00PM at Maverick Rock 'N Roll (651 Hwy 290 W). Rock out all day to live music by local tween/teen rock bands. Free admission, carnival booths, food and drinks, arts and crafts and...wait for it...air guitar competition! This event is a fundraiser for an outdoor stage, sound system, and music education scholarships. For more information call (512) 970-ROCK (7625).

Also on Saturday, Kids Day America presents a free education event for kids on
on health, safety, and environmental awareness. The event features free "Spine Checks, Hearing Test, Kids Camps, Food, Fun etc".  Money raised from at the event  go to YMCA Partner of Life. For more information, contact event sponsor Family First Chiropractic at (512) 858-WELL. The event takes place from Noon - 3:00PM at the Dripping Springs YMCA.

Jam-packed Saturday wraps up with a jam at the DS Presbyterian church's benefit concert.
The concert kicks off at 6:30PM (gates open at 5:30PM) at Jack Mountain Ranch. Music provided by Addison Hayes, Dustin Meyer, and the Dripping Springs Presbyterian praise band, Drippin’ Soul. Admission is $5 for 11 years and up and Free for 10 years and under. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic dinner for your family. Bottled water and sodas will be sold at the concert for a nominal price. Proceeds will be used for scholarship and travel expense for families taking part in the church's summer mission trip to Marvel, Arkansas (in one of the most impoverished counties in our country).
